Founded on 16th July 1961 under the patronage of the Third Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the College of Language and Culture Studies was established as a school dedicated to preserving Bhutan’s unique cultural heritage and traditions.

The Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) is one of the constituent colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB). The college was formerly known as the Royal Bhutan Polytechnic, Royal Bhutan Institute of Technology and Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic. Samtse College of Education was founded by Bhutan’s Third Dharma King Late His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Since its establishment the College has given the country’s education system over 5000 graduates with primary teaching certificate, bachelors, diploma, postgraduate diploma, and Masters qualifications.

Sherubtse College, located in Kanglung, Trashigang, is Bhutan’s oldest and largest higher education institution, founded in 1968. As a constituent college of the Royal University of Bhutan since 2003, it offers various bachelor’s degrees, including Data Science, Economics, Political Science, and Life Sciences.
